More Bridget Jones than Waity Katie: Royal bride-to-be Miss Middleton cries into her wine glass after being dumped by Prince William according to U.S.

As she sits in the bath tub crying into her glass of wine the actress could quite easily be playing a Bridget Jones type in the latest rom com.

But this scene is actually supposed to portray Kate Middleton devastated over her break from Prince William back in 2007.

The clip is taken from William And Kate the movie which is set to air in the U.S. on April 18 – just days before the royal couple’s wedding.

British-born actress Camilla Luddington, 27, stars as Miss Middleton with a notably strange accent while New Zealand-born Nico Evers-Swindell, 31, takes on the role as the future King of England.

Clips from the made-for-TV movie last week, showing the couple at various stages of their relationship.

The film, which will be shown on the Lifetime channel, has been described as 'the naffest Royal movie ever made', and appears to live up to expectations with a highly clichéd script.

As Wills declares his love for Kate, she responds: ‘I love the you no one gets to see but me.’

While the film claims to be ‘inspired by true events’ artistic license has been used in bucket loads and strangely neither character has a British accent.

The footage shows Miss Luddington's character describe William as 'just a guy', to which her friend replies: 'He's just a guy who happens to be the future king of England'.

In another scene, Prince William is seen telling Kate: 'I just want to keep our relationship private'.

The couple are even shown in bed together, though the director has spared viewers' blushes by keeping both characters fully-clothed.

A section of the trailers shows the 31-year-old actor discussing his role and he says: 'Will is struggling to be a normal guy. He's asked a lot of her in terms of sacrificing.'

Miss Luddington added: 'Lifetime viewers are going to get a great love story. If you're a romantic at heart you're going to love it.'
